Going to a movie this week? The Blind Side has to be the one you see! Paige and I both saw this movie and LOVED it! It is one of the best movies of the year and the perfect family movie for the Thanksgiving holiday. But it isn’t fluff. There is real substance here and I can only hope that everyone else has the opportunity to see it. Leigh Anne Tuohy took a chance and acted on her instincts as a mother. She made a difference in the life of a young person. We should all hope for an experience such as this. The movie was well done, well directed and well acted. Sandra Bullock was fantastic! And, surprise! Tim McGraw knocked my socks off. He was REALLY good! Go. See It! You won’t be disappointed! Please check out the full audio exclusive interview with real mom, Leigh Anne Touhy, here
Gretchen says Paige’s devotion to her angora bunnies is crazy. Paige and her daughters are raising them, shearing them, and learning to spin the bunny hair into yarn! Do you have any hobbies that you share with your kids? Paige has also been crocheting up a storm so she’ll be ready to use that bunny yarn when she learns to make it. E-mail your fun pet stories to mommycast@gmail.com for a chance to win a hat or cell phone holder made by Paige.
An important part of “being there for your new family” is planning for your children’s college education. So as part of our New Beginnings series, sponsored by State Farm, Gretchen and Paige checked in with State Farm Agent Felicia Everett for advice on how parents can get started saving for that big step out of the nest! Felicia talks about several different plans parents should consider, and emphasizes that most families will use a combination of savings, scholarships, and loans. Take a deep breath and click here and here for more information about planning for college.
